SHOULD WE GO BACK TO THE ROOTS AND EMBRACE KUTEKA MARRIAGE?

Swazis from the kingdom of Eswatini are not an exception. Although it is true that some people still prefer the traditional way of getting married known as kuteka, most people in our days are embracing the western way of getting married. This is because for the past few decades most churches have been painting kuteka as evil. According to most pastors during the kuteka ceremony there are rituals that are performed that symbolizes a pact with the death known as ancestors aka emadloti in siSwati language. WHAT THEY DON’T TELL YOU ABOUT VARSITY

  Envy Few years ago a batch of varsity students arrived at our school to kindle the spark of hope to form 5 pupils who were about to face their final examination in 6 months’ time. Me, seeing them, I was green with envy for they were everything I wanted; the varsity title and all the attention that comes with it. I am certain I was not alone. Dubious When they were given the platform by the school administration, they all preached the same gospel that varsity life was all fun and games. Of course, most of us were dubious but we were greatly motivated by the idea of going to this utopic world. Who wouldn’t want to get a break from 12 years of school life? At last someone was giving us an escape from this prison. Finally, we were going to get the reward for our hard work.
